About Us

Carol & Scott have been in the health and fitness industry for over 35 years. They received their undergraduate degrees from UC Davis and their graduate degrees in Exercise Physiology from San Diego State University. Both are also certified Exercise Specialists through the American College of Sports Medicine. When starting out in the health business, they had the desire to create an environment where people of all ages and abilities would feel comfortable and “at-home” in their gym experience. They also wanted to provide a highly qualified staff to assist people with their individual fitness and health needs. In 1993, after a few years of planning, they reinvented Personally Fit in Rancho Santa Fe to be their neighborhood gym which would achieve these ideals.

Fast forward past raising three kids, two Labradors, a number of cats, oh…and surviving the Covid shutdown in 2020, Personally Fit is still thriving. The gym has become a studio for personal training, by appointment only. The staff does both in-studio and in-home training, and Carol is expanding her services into wellness coaching. It still maintains the neighborhood feel of a place where people of all ages are welcome and at any stage of fitness…it’s never too late to begin!
